Welcome to Lady Tech Leader, where we’re dedicated to empowering women in STEM shine as leaders and managers. Meet Fawn Turner, the driving force behind our mission. From a young age, Fawn dreamed of becoming an astronaut to make a difference in the world after she watched the 1986 Challenger launch at school. She didn’t quite meet that dream, but after earning degrees in mechanical and electrical engineering, she sent many fingerprints into space. During her career, Fawn rose through the R&D management ranks to become a leader who inspires and empowers others to succeed in the STEM industries.
Through numerous challenges, Fawn achieved the role of Senior Manager in Research and Development, a milestone attained by only 27% of women in tech nationwide (and a mere 19% in tech hardware). During her career, she has mentored countless individuals in tech and science fields, recognizing and addressing unique needs for success of males, females, and those from historically underrepresented groups in the workplace. Learning from her own leadership journey, Fawn is passionate about helping others achieve success in their fields and leadership roles more efficiently than through trial and error alone.
